There are 11 NHL teams that currently have never won the Stanley Cup. All are teams participating in the tournament since 1967.

The most senior team that hasn’t won the Stanley Cup is St. Louis Blues, who participated in the tournament in 1967-68 season. The Blues expressed their promise early, fulfilling the Stanley Cup final in their first three seasons. Vancouver Canucks, who joined the NHL in the 1970-71 season, also went to the Stanley Cup final three times, once in three different decades.

Four of the 11 teams have never reached the Stanley Cup final including franchise Winnipeg Jets / Phoenix Coyotes, franchise Atlanta Thrashers / Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets.

In 2018, Washington Capital, who participated in the NHL in the 1974-75 season, finally ended the Stanley Cup drought, beating the tournament’s newest team, the Golden Vegas Knights. The capital had been in the Stanley Cup Final just once before, losing to the Red Wings in 1998
