Sergey Bobrovsky is one of the strongest goalkeepers in the world and Russia’s only double winner in the Vezina Cup – an award for the best NHL goalkeeper.

Bobrovsky made his debut at NHL in Philadelphia during the 2010/11 season. The Russians had a good season, becoming the main goalkeeper of Flyers. But the following year, Bobrovsky acted weaker, less likely to join the squad and in exchange for Columbus. The Russians opened up in the new team and won the Vezina Cup in the first season.

For seven years, he was the main goalkeeper of the Blue Jackets and the leader of the team. However, in this segment, Columbus Columbus only went to the playoffs three times and Bobrovsky played much worse in relegation games than the regular season. In his career, the Russians have not won any playoff series.

Last season was the worst for Bobrovsky in the past three years. But the Russians for the first time in their career had an excellent performance in the playoffs.

In the first round, Columbus defeated the Tampa season favorites (4: 0 in the series), and in the second round lost the future Boston finals (2: 4 in the series). Bobrovsky is the fifth in the relegation game in terms of percentage of reflex shots (92.5%) and has no longer been considered a non-Cup player.

In the summer, Bobrovsky did not renew his contract with Columbus and moved to Florida. Under the new contracti, the Russians will receive 10 million dollars a year. Due to the low income tax in NHL according to NHL standards (39.6%), Bobrovsky became the third player in the league for wages.
